The Scientech is used for the sterilization process under a saturated steam pressure at any given or selected point, say between 5 to 20 psi. These machines are known to be double walled units with the inner chamber (Boiler) made up of the 18 S.W.G. SS & the outer chamber is seen to be covered with the MS Lid with the SS lining, which is tightened by the radial locking system.

Strength

• One of the key features of this equipment is that it is fitted with a neoprene rubber gasket.
• All systems present in the system, are known to be hydraulically tested up to about 40 psi as a means of safety measure.
• The autoclaves are seen to be fitted with the standard accessories. For example- water level indicator, the pressure gauge, the steam release cock, the spring-loaded safety valve & the heating element.

Use

The autoclave equipment is also particularly useful for the media-containing water which cannot be directly sterilized by the dry heat. It is also a method of choice for the sterilization of the following in the Molecular Biology Department:

• Surgical instruments
• Culture media
• Solutions and water
• Biohazardous waste
• Glassware which is autoclave resistible
• Autoclavable plastic containers
• Plastic tubes and pipette tips
