  • Post scan care is not needed, you can continue your daily activities soon.
  • If contrast dye is used , you may have to drink a good amount of water to withdraw or flush it out.
  • Your images will be sent to the radiologist for analysis, and based on your report your doctor will tell you the further process to diagnose disease.

Things to keep in mind before undergoing this MRI test?

  • Discuss your medical history with your doctor before. If you’ve had a metal implant, piercing, or pacemaker.
  • If you’ve kidney disease or allergies consult with a doctor as this also uses contrast dye.
  • Wear comfortable and metal free clothing such as zippers, belts or bras with underwire. You may be given a hospital gown.
  • Avoid using makeup, deodorant, or lotion; they may have metal particles in them.
  • Movements can blur the images, so it is recommended to you that please be still and avoid movements for sometime.
