FOLLOWING are the indications of EEG:
- Detection of non-convulsive seizures and non-convulsive status epilepticus.
- Monitoring the effect of anti-seizure and anti-epileptic therapy.
- Unexplained changes in mental status
- Fluctuating and sudden changes in mental status
- Refractory status epilepticus
- Previous history of seizures
- Paroxysmal autonomic spells
- For grading severity of encephalopathy
- Detection of cerebral palsy or ischemia
- During or after vascular interventional procedures in radiology
- For monitoring depths of anesthesia
- For monitoring different phases of sleep cycle
- To identify brain death in persons with persistent coma
- For prognosis of brain disorders
