HSG test is of two types:
- Traditional HSG
- SonoHSG
Traditional HSG: This is the most common type of HSG test. It involves the injection of a dye into the uterus and fallopian tubes through a catheter that is placed in the cervix. SonoHSG: This is a newer type of HSG test that uses saline and air instead of dye to examine the uterus and fallopian tubes. SonoHSG stands for saline-infused Sono hysterography. During the test, saline solution is injected into the uterus, and ultrasound images are used to visualize the uterus and fallopian tubes.
