Winters are a season of chills. In this season everyone feels cold. Everything becomes freezy. This season is cozy but with it, this season is also making people lazy and mostly sick.

Every season has its specialty but when winter comes everything becomes so cozy and frezy. In today’s blog, we are talking about winter chills and their indications. 

What is Winter Chills? 

“Chills” this word refers to Cold. When you feel cold then after you say it's chill. Winter chills feel like a piece of ice touching you and sticking with your body. If we are talking about it in the medical language then you feel chill when your muscle is expended rapidly and your skin vessels Constrit. We start feeling chills from the start of October. You feel chill when your body is feeling core temperature. 

Signs Of Feeling Chills 

When you feel chill then your body gives you a lot of signs that its core outside or your body is not at its core temperature. Now Let's know what signs the body gives you. 

  • Goosebumps- When you feel cold then it's very common that you will also have goosebumps on your body. In medical language, several hairs on our  body protect us from cold weather. That is why in cold temperatures hairs do their work and protect our body which is called goosebumps.  
  • Shivry- Shivering is a very common activity of our body during winter. When we feel chill then our bodies shake and shaking produces heat which protect us from cold. 
  • Redness on Skin- In winter you mostly see that people's skin becomes red that is because in winter blood vessels near your skin constrict and reduce heat and blood flow increases which makes your skin red and hot. You see mostly this redness comes on that part of your body which ae uncovered like your face and your hand. This is because your boy wants to protect you. 

Causes of chill 

There are several Causes behind the winter chills and in this blog, we will discuss some. 

  • Fever- Fever is a very common problem during winter. But this is not good for your health. Now if we are talking medically then you are suffering from fever because in winter weather becomes cold and dry which makes your immunity system weak. Then after your body can’t fight viruses and the mucus and cilia in your nose and throat are not working properly your body adapts virus and you will suffer from fever.  
  • Sore throat and cough-  In winter most people are affected by Sore throat and cough. This is because cold and dry weather irritates the tissues of our throat and it becomes worse when you are suffering from a cough and you are breathing with your mouth not with your nose. 
  • Diarrhea-  This medical issue is mostly seen in children during weather changes this is because when the weather changes body needs to work hard to keep body temperature in control but because kids are small their bodies need time to adjust in between their digestive systems become weak and then after they suffering will suffering with Darrhea kind of a medical condition. 
  • Chest pain- In the winter season you mostly hear people that they complaining about chest pain. This is one of the most common medical problems during the winter season. The reason behind this is in starting of winter when you suddenly inhale chilled, fresh air that directly hits your lungs and your chest is paining. It also happens when you go to a cold temperature suddenly from a warm temperature.  

How to Prevent yourself from the chill 

  • The best way to prevent yourself from winter chill is layering. When you know that you have to go outside or you have to go in chill temperatures then wear the layering of your winter clothes it provides you heat and helps your body to maintain temperature.
  • The next way is to drink warm food materials which give heat to your body. Especially start drinking hot water which helps you not only to heat up the body but also helps you in weight loss and it is also good for your health. 
  • If some of you are having issues with diabetes, then take care of your blood sugar and kindly avoid alcohol and drug consumption. It might be dangerous for your health.

Winter cills are good but when they affect your body then you have to think about your body. Before getting any kind of medical problem during winter your body gives you some signs of winter chilling once you get those signs then you have to be aware and you have to prevent your body from that medical issue you will face if you are not aware.
