Leptospira DNA PCR - Qualitative: What is it?

Leptospira DNA PCR - PCR is used to qualitatively detect Leptospira DNA in blood. Leptospirosis is conveyed on by the  Leptospira. If you experience symptoms such a fever, headache, muscle discomfort, chills, red eyes, or vomiting, you may require this test.

Chosen specimen

5 mL of sterile, plastic, leak-proof urine were collected.

Minimum Volume: 2 mL Aptima urine, 0.5 mL CSF, 0.8 mL whole blood, and 1 mL urine.

Other Valid Specimens

1 mL whole blood, 1 mL CSF, and 2 mL urine were collected in EDTA (lavender-top) tubes

Instructions

Collect the urine in a clean, leak-proof plastic container. Transport frozen and instantly freeze at -20°C. Don't defrost.

Urine in Aptima (Acceptable): Within 1 day after exhibition and before examination, two mL of the urine sample must be positioned into the APTIMA Specimen Transport. The urine transport tube's fluid level (urine plus transport media) must fit within the label's transparent window.
