A 3T scanner can attain higher spatial resolution and be more sensitive to small lesions if it has more signal. Hence 3T is better than 1.5 T because it can detect abnormalities as small as 2mm.

A 3T MRI machine is mowerfull and reduces the scan time while providing best image quality. Therefore, a 3-Tesla scanner is required to maintain the desired resolution within 60 minutes.
