Paediatric Echo is an acronym for Paediatric Echocardiography. It is a painless, non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create moving pictures of the heart in children of all age groups. Echocardiographic test for the children usually takes about  20 to 40 minutes. Remaining stable and still is necessary to capture clear images. Younger children often require sleeping medicines known as sedation to help calm them and to reduce movements while the cardiologist obtains the required pictures. To reduce child’s movements sometimes a DVD or other videographics diversions are used.
