Pediculosis Corporis (Body Lice)

Pediculosis corporis, also known as body lice infestation, is a parasitic infection that affects the skin, usually in areas where clothing is tight-fitting or seams press against the skin. Body lice are tiny insects that live on clothing and feed on human blood. The infection is most commonly found in people who have poor hygiene or who live in crowded or unclean environments.

Symptoms of body lice infestation can include itching and irritation of the skin, as well as the presence of small red bumps or sores on the skin where the lice have fed.

Diagnosis of body lice infestation is typically made by identifying the lice or their eggs, called nits, on clothing or bedding.
