What is TORCH PCR test?

TORCH PCR test detects the presence of genetic material of the following infection causing microorganisms in various types of samples:

Toxoplasma gondii, Syphilis , HIV, Hepatitis B Virus, Varicella zoster virus (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis C Virus, , Rubella Virus, Herpes simplex, Cytomegalo virus, Parvo virus B19, etc. 

These infections/ diseases cause complications during pregnancy and hence, it becomes important to screen them.
