CT Aortic Angiography Test

CT Aortic Angiography is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to assess the flow of blood through the aorta. The aorta is the major artery responsible for transporting blood from the heart to the abdomen. This scan aids in assessing the blood supply to the upper body and detecting/diagnosing aortic and aortic branch diseases such as atherosclerosis. Contrast dye will be injected into the arteries during the procedure, and x-rays will be used to detect any potential aortic problems.

It is using a powerful X-ray machine to produce images of the heart and its blood vessels. The test is used to diagnose a variety of heart conditions

Its clinicians use dye injected into the bloodstream to visualise artery blockages. The scan reveals a blockage when the dye reaches impenetrable or narrowed passages clogged by fatty build-ups or clots.

CT Aortic Angiography is used by doctors to diagnose issues with the aorta and its branches, such as aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery disease, aortic dissection, congenital problems, Double aortic arch, vascular ring, aortic blockages, and so on. It is also used to detect suspected aortic injuries and to diagnose aortic inflammatory conditions.

In the case of pregnancy, CT Aortic Angiography is avoided. It is recommended that women inform the doctor/radiology nurse if they are pregnant or have any chance of becoming pregnant before the procedure.

Pregnant women should notify their doctor (and the x-ray technician) because the radiations could harm the foetus. If necessary, precautions can be taken to reduce the fetus's exposure to radiation.

You may be asked to wear a hospital gown during the scan, depending on the area to be imaged.

A CT Aortic Angiography Testis typically performed in a hospital's radiology department or an outpatient imaging facility. So, for the best services and reliable results, schedule your test at Ganesh Diagnostic in Yamuna Vihar.
