This pathology report is ready in about two or three days after biopsy (small, medium, large) taken. If there is any additional testing of tissue that is necessary, your report could take longer to be assessed (between 7 and 14 days).
A skin or a tissue sample is generally collected from a patient; in the laboratory it is processed. The tissue is assessed by the histopathologist s for the diagnosis.
Among these is the giemsa stain and the Wright's stain (or Wright-Giemsa stain). The latter is utilized to stain peripheral blood smears. The giemsa stain can be helpful for identifying components in a variety of tissues.
The Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining is also used routinely in the histopathology laboratories along with providing pathologist/researcher detailed view of tissue. Viewing of the following cells: cytoplasm, nucleus, and organelles and extra-cellular components can be viewed appropriately.
The Histopathology department is seen to play an important role as a diagnostic tool in a workup for various problems, including the cancer. It is also generally recognized as a gold standard for diagnosis of the neoplastic tumor.
The histopathology tests enable the healthcare professionals to check for any changes in the body cells or the tissue that could explain any actual cause of patient's sickness. The Pathologists will use the diagnosis by examining any small piece of tissue from the various organs.
